Our Story
The story behind Amakio.
The founder grew up in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where he attended primary and secondary school before earning a B.A.Ed. in English Education from the University of Uyo. From a young age, two things drew him: teaching and building.
For years he worked across classrooms and school offices — helping students learn, designing curricula, and watching administrators struggle with mountains of paper records. He saw schools lose exam results, double-pay teachers, and spend weeks compiling report cards by hand. He knew technology could solve this, so he taught himself to code.
The real turning point was his son's birth. Holding Amakan — his name means overcomer — he thought about the future. He imagined a system where a child could attend lessons and have everything in one place; where a parent could follow a child's growth by tapping a device; where reports could be viewed and downloaded without queues, appointments, or waiting.
That vision became Amakio — the overcomer's hub. A platform where the next generation can access their education without the obstacles of the past. Every feature is built for every child who deserves a school that works as hard as they do.
